Lunch served: 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
The Friendship Center is a day shelter that provides critical community resources to thousands of men, women and families
each year who are homeless, or at risk of being homeless. In addition to serving breakfast and lunch, individuals have
access to showers, laundry facilities, health care, an emergency food pantry, personal care items, case management
support services, and homeless prevention services.
Last year, The Friendship Center:
- Served 67,243 meals to 5,101 individual clients
- Fulfilled 480 requests from the emergency food pantry
- Met 3,005 requests for services beyond meals such as use of case management, clothing, showers, diapers and personal
care items
- Hosted 617 medical visits with the nurse practitioner at the on-site clinic
The Friendship Center's Family Services offers a fulltime case manager who works with families to find safe, permanent
housing or resources to remain in their homes. The case manager assists them in completing the paperwork required to
allow them access to other support services. Families are provided with meals, and are given food from the emergency
food pantry. Children are given donated backpacks with school supplies and uniforms in the late summer and holiday
gifts given by volunteer groups at Christmas at an annual holiday party.
Last year, Family Services:
- Provided intensive case management to 48 families
- Fulfilled 125 requests from the emergency food pantry
- Distributed backpacks, school supplies and uniforms to 53 children
- Distributed turkeys to individuals and families
- Distributed Christmas gifts to 275 children
